In this lesson, we'll look at an easy shortcut for entering data in more than one cell at a time. The trick is to use the control key while you press enter.
Let's take a look.
Normally, to add the same value to a group of cells, you'd add it to one cell, copy the value, then paste. Or, you could use the fill handle.
But there's a faster way to do it. Just select all the cells from the start and type the data you want to enter. Then, while holding down the control key, press the enter key.
The value is then entered into all cells at once.
This same trick works even when cells are not next to one another. Just select all cells, type the value, and hold down the control key while you press enter.
You can use this same approach to enter formulas as well. We'll look how to do that in a future lesson.
