About Exceljet

Dave Bruns

Hi, I'm Dave Bruns. I founded Exceljet in 2012 and have been working on this website for more than 10 years. The goal of Exceljet is to help ordinary people use Excel faster and more effectively. Exceljet.net now includes several thousand pages and almost 500 short videos.

Excel is a huge and complicated application. I am interested in ways to reduce this complexity. I try to find the best way to solve a problem in Excel and then explain the solution in a way that is quick, clean, and to the point. In short, Exceljet is the resource that I would want to use if I were learning Excel.

Excel MVP

I am currently an Excel MVP (Most Valuable Professional), a special status awarded by Microsoft to "technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the community." Excel MVPs are a group of extremely talented Excel users across the globe. I seriously cannot believe how much these people know about Excel! I am humbled to be in this group.

100% human

It's 2023 and suddenly we find ourselves competing with AI robots that harvest our content and then "repurpose" it onto other websites. I want to assure you that we are actual humans. I have personally written, reviewed, and tested everything we publish. This takes a lot of time, but I do it because I care. I want the answers we provide to work for you.

Exceljet Newsletter

I run a free email newsletter with weekly Excel tips, focused mostly on interesting and useful formulas. Each email contains a summary of the topic and links to the complete article and workbook on Exceljet. You can subscribe to our newsletter using the form below. Dave and Lisa

Exceljet is run by husband and wife team Dave and Lisa Bruns. Dave is a long-time user of Excel, with more than 20 years as a manager in the corporate world. He writes and narrates our videos. Lisa is an elearning animator. She assembles each video into a short, sweet package that you can finish well before your coffee gets cold. Dave and Lisa live with their three kids in Salt Lake City, Utah. When not untangling something in Excel, they do a lot of canoeing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, and camping.
